Relief for Stress Symptoms

I have spent many years looking for relief for stress in my life.  Of course, you only realise you are stressed when you note there are various symptoms affecting you in different situations.

Now I have the time to find the best information and knowledge on the internet and elsewhere to relieve stress and anxiety and to cope with stress at all levels.  By adding to this information regularly, visitors to this site will also benefit from the data that I felt was the best to help beat our day to day problems.

My special interest – in fact my passion – has always been to try to understand what makes people tick!   The excellent book 400 Strategies for a Stressfree Life certainly helped me think about how to ensure the ticking is calm, measured and regular!

I would liken my life to a river! It started off small and gentle but became bigger, deeper and stronger as it headed for the ocean! As we pass along our river some sections are rough and rocky whilst others are calm, serene and refreshing. During the calm periods we should prepare ourselves for the rougher sections that inevitably lie ahead. Lets remember to learn from each experience as we pass through for we should never take life for granted! A strong gale could blow up at any time even during the quietest times.

Identifying Symptoms of Stress

I have found the symptoms of stress to be so sneaky!  They creep up and are all over you before you realise what has happened!  I’ll bet this has happened to you!  One day you can deal with anything, the next, you just can’t handle anything right, the slightest thing sets you off and you want to scream the place down!

So recognise your symptoms of stress especially if you have any of these:

Headaches, sleeplessness, changed eating habits, tenseness, stomach problems, indigestion, breathing problems, anxiety attacks, irritability, lack of interest, indecisiveness, feelings of worthlessness, losing your creative edge, smoking and drinking more, lack of job satisfaction, unproductive, raised tensions with colleagues.

You may experience all of these as part of your normal life at one time or another with no ill effects. They only become of concern when several occur together, for longer periods and you feel unable to shake them off.

So to cope with stress you have to develop a positive mindset to manage stress in your lives at home, work and play.  The  excellent guide mentioned above offers solutions to the many different types of stress, anxiety and panic that appear and affect us so much.  Check it out.

Surprisingly, it’s all due to you!  Yes, thats right – you cause your own stress!  Doesn’t sound right does it? But it’s true!  Your mental approach decides totally how you react to unexpected, stressful situations!

Your mind is a wonderful thing but you have to train it to cope with stress and to achieve relief for stress properly.

When faced with the unexpected, your brain goes into overdrive causing physical symptoms throughout your body by subconsciously developing your “fight or flight” response.  It floods your body with adrenaline and other stress linked hormones preparing for a worst event that might never happen! In the distant past, this response allowed us to stay alive and cope with stress in dangerous situations.

Nowadays, this surge of chemicals is a total over-reaction.   Such constant arousal can only  lead to chronic stress and could have a serious effect on your health longer term. You must watch out for when you are vulnerable for that’s when it is so easy to reach out and start comfort eating.

You must watch out for when you are vulnerable for that’s when it is so easy to reach out and start comfort eating! Don’t do it!!

Have you noticed that some days you react much more to stress whilst on others you seem to have a remedy for stress ready in your pocket?

Have you ever wondered why?

Could it be that your overall approach is more positive to cope with stress on these days?

Perhaps this is what we all need to develop?

Why is it some people seem to manage stress much better than others?

Do they just have a different mind set?

Could you develop yours too?

So to cope with stress you have to develop a mind set to manage stress in all aspects of your lives wherever you are at the time.  I have already mentioned that there is an excellent guide that offers solutions to the many situations in which different types of stress and anxiety appear and affect us.   To check it out , please   Click Here!
